Let's introduce you to the individual pieces of Easy Menus before we get into details on how they work.
Codes
Codes (or, a Code) is the term we use to talk about a menu or groups of menus. Since a Code can only point to a single (PDF) menu, the QR Code and the PDF document it points to go hand in hand.
When you log into your Easy Menus dashboard, your home screen will show a list of all the Codes in your account. Selecting a Code will give you access to the details of that Code, which includes:
- The permanent QR Code that will always point to your updated menu.
- The "Friendly Name" of the Code, which is only ever viewable by you.
- The Update Email address, which is used to update your Code to point to a new menu PDF
- The list of Authorized Senders, or email addresses authorized to update your menu PDF on your behalf.
- An Activity timeline of all actions that have happened in regards to this Code
Update Email
The Update Email address is a unique email address that is assigned to your Code when it is first created. By sending an email to this address with a PDF document attached, your Code will be updated to point to this new PDF. When your Code is first created, only the account owner can update their Code by sending an email to the Update Email address - there are security measures in place to ensure that only an Authorized Sender can make updates to the Code via email. You will have the ability to add more Authorized Senders, which we discuss in the next section.
Authorized Senders
An Authorized Sender is a verified email address that is allowed to update your Code on your behalf. The account owner is an automatic Authorized Sender on all Codes in the account by default. Additional Authorized Senders can be invited to a Code, and the address must be verified before it becomes active. Authorized Senders can be removed from a Code by the account owner at any time.
An Authorized Sender is only active for a single Code - if you would like the same Authorized Sender to be active on multiple Codes in your account, they must be individually invited to each Code and they are required to verify their address for each Code.
Activity Timeline
This is a basic history of your Code that will note when changes were made, either to the PDF document the QR Code points to, or any changes to Authorized Senders on the Code.
