Authorized Senders

Updating Via Email

Your Code can only be updated by sending an email (see Updating a Code) and that email must come from an Authorized Sender. An Authorized Sender is a verified email address which you have given explicit permission to update your Code. While we don't recommend making your Update Address public, even if someone attempted to send a PDF to your Update Address, it would not work if that person is not an Authorized Sender.

Account Owners

As the account owner, you are already an Authorized Sender. The email address you used to sign up for your account is automatically added as an Authorized Sender to each Code you create. This permission cannot be revoked. You will see your email address listed in the Authorized Senders section on the Code details page.

Additional Authorized Senders

From the Authorized Senders section of the Code details page, you can add new Authorized Senders. Simply select the "Add Authorized Sender" button and you will be shown the following screen:

Entering an email address in this form and choosing "Add Sender" will send an invite email to the recipient. In order to verify this address before giving them full update permissions, the verification link in the invite email must be visited within 7 days of the invite being sent.

Once verified, the address will be an official Authorized Sender for that particular Code only. You may add the same Authorized Sender to multiple Codes in your account, but the invitation and verification process must happen for each Code.

Updates Are Tracked

Any time an Authorized Sender updates a Code, this change will be reflected in both the Activity Timeline for the Code, and the account owner will receive an email stating that the Code was updated. This allows you to know not only when a Code was updated, but also who performed the update.

Removing Authorized Senders

An Authorized Sender may be removed from a Code at any time by simply selecting the delete button alongside their email address in the Authorized Senders section of the Code details page. Choosing to remove an Authorized Sender is both immediate and permanent. You can re-add the address as an Authorized Sender to the same Code again if you choose, but the invitation and verification process must be followed again.
