Archiving (deleting) a code
Archiving a code in Easy Menus is the equivalent of deleting it. It's a deliberately-careful action because it can't be undone, and any printed QR codes pointing at it will stop working for your customers.
This is permanent
Once a code is archived, the QR code in the wild shows an error to customers. You can't bring the code back. If you've got physical signs or stickers out there, they'll keep showing the error until you remove them or replace them.
When to archive
- A code you set up while testing and never used in public
- A code for a location you've closed
- A code for a seasonal menu / event that's done and won't come back (e.g., "Summer 2025 pool rules" is over and won't be reused)
When NOT to archive
- A code that's still printed and customers are still scanning. Even if you don't want the current menu showing, the right move is to update the PDF to something else (e.g., a "We're temporarily closed" notice). Archive is not "pause" — it's "destroy."
- A code you might want to revive later. Archive is one-way.
How to archive
- Open the code's page in the dashboard.
- Scroll to the bottom — there's a Delete code section.
- Hit Delete this code.
- You'll be asked to confirm by entering an 8-digit code we email you (similar to the sign-in flow). This is an extra safety step because the action is permanent.
- Type the code, confirm. The code moves to your archive.

What stays, what goes
Archive keeps:
- The activity timeline for the code, including the CSV download. Good for records and audits.
- The friendly name and update history.
Archive removes:
- The QR code's ability to serve the PDF. Customer scans get an error page.
- The authorized senders list for that code. (If they're on other codes in your account, those aren't affected.)
- The update address. Emails sent there after archive bounce.
Finding archived codes
Side nav → Archive. You'll see a card per archived code with the date it was archived. Click any one to view its preserved activity timeline and download its CSV.
